
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win its league championship. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years young, was the youngest player from the nation at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 where she placed second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same calendar year , making her the sixth youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was selected for both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she won the Silver Boot.
